About Us

Ballarat Mowers & Chainsaws was originally started by Max Henderson, in Corbett St, Ballarat in 1983. In 1998 Darren & Gordana took over. It was then called Ballarat Mowers. In July 2002 we moved to Creswick Rd and changed our name to Ballarat Mowers And Chainsaws, in doing so we increased our range of Outdoor Power Equipment.

We have Factory Trained Technicians, which includes Trade Qualified Outdoor Power Equipment Mechanics (this a 4 year Apprenticeship). We also have a Briggs and Stratton Master Service Technician on site; this is a world wide recognized Certificate which is the highest award given out by Briggs and Stratton.

Our many Accolades include:

Ballarat Mowers & Chainsaws supplies a huge range of products from battery operated hand held equipment to ride-on's for large yards or acreages, up to commercial equipment for contractors.

Customer/Clients
We have adopted a slogan, For Honest and Reliable Service which reflects our commitment to all our customers.

As part of this commitment we aim to sell the right mower or chainsaw to suit our customers requirements, not just anything to make the sale. This makes their experience with us far more satisfying.

Our customers like to deal with us because Ballarat Mowers & Chainsaws is a multiple award winning Business and that gives them peace if mind. Not only have we won some awards back to back, but three and four years in a row.

We also host an Outdoor Power Expo once a year, allowing our customers to interact with representatives from our suppliers.

We have a very large customer database and most are active clients.

Our new computer system sends out letters with regards to feedback requests, service reminders or anything else we require and also regularly receive emails from our website and forum pages.

Service
We offer a repair service we believe is amongst the best in the country in our field. This ensures contractors, like Jim's Mowing, have less downtime and every one else has hassle free gardening, while chores turn into pleasure.

Our showroom is always changing whether it is from adding new stock items or just a change around so the store looks fresh and inviting. We always aim to exceed our customers expectations of us with our vast knowledge and range of equipment and spare parts, and are always aiming to please.

The sales staff try to put themselves in the customers shoes, which allows us to offer the best help and guidance we can. We listen and ask important key questions. Many say this is one of our sales techniques that sets us apart from from our competition

Our workshop system ensures that our customers know when to come back to pick up their repair or service item, and most importantly that their equipment is ready. We are able to then send out reminder notices to ensure all new products purchased receive the first services as required for the warranty. Every new product is fully pre-delivered and ready to use, with the added bonus of the first service parts and labour costs totally free.

Personnel
As there is a shortage of small engine technicians, we have been training apprentices to fill this gap. We also attend regular supplier training schools and update seminarsd to ensure we are always up to date or in front of market changes.

Everyone is able to get any training or information they need to do their job to the best of their ability, as we believe knowledge is knowing where to find the information when you need it.

Technology
We have installed and maintained our entire network of five computers that operate throughout the premises.

We use a range of programs for spare parts look up both on and off line. We also submit warranty claims online.
